  • iPoint Pencil Sharpener by Wescott

    By: Leslie

The day I brought this home it was a hit. All your child has to do is put the pencil in and hold on. It automatically stops when the pencil is sharp. The blade is enclosed in a neat little housing made of sturdy plastic. It is easy to empty and safe for kids when it is open. The motor will not engage when the housing is removed.

The model I brought home is the 14204 Battery sharpener. It is one of the smaller sharpeners and it runs on 4 AA batteries. I carry mine all over the house depending on where we are working. It even won the 2006 Good Design Award by the The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

I recommend this to everyone. It is a sharp little product.

  • Bendominoes!

    By: Leslie

What a neat idea! We received BenDomino from Blue Orange Games for the holidays this year. It is played like a regular dominoes game but the pieces are bent into a kind of kidney shape. They also have colors on them instead of the traditional black and white. The game actually is more challenging to play this way because you can't turn the end pieces on a double like in a regular game. My 10 year old son beat his father the first three games they played. This is now a popular game in my house and I very much recommmend this game. You can visit their website at www.blueorangegames.com.

  • Amazing Q-Ba-Maze

We recieved this nifty little toy in our office before the holidays. I brought it home and we checked it out. It takes some thinking and planning, but you can make some pretty neat little towers to run your marbles through. We had to build a couple with the directions that were provided to get the hang of it, but we caught on pretty fast. I like this because it makes my son think about what he is doing instead of just stacking blocks. With 3 different blocks that have different ways for the balls to go, the possibilities are endless. Don't get this for little ones, the frustration level will be too high. All in all, we liked this one.

  • Planet Earth - The Interactive DVD Game

We actually tested this one out in the office. We couldn't wait to get it home. The graphics are stunning. The questions are not too hard and you always learn something. I think this is a great game for all ages. Even the really little ones will love looking at the scenes that pop up. Winning the game is really more of chance than skill the way the game is set up to be played. It retails for around $24.95 and is money well spent. Try it! You'll like it!

  • Drink Crayons?!

    What a delicious juice!

    By: Leslie

We got Crayon Drinks sent to our office today. We got 5 samples and 3 of us were brave enough to try them.We all popped open our drinks and took the first sip. We looked at each other and declared our joy at having found a light, flavorful juice. I tried the Wild Watermelon and Berries, Jackie tried the Orange Mango and Amber got the Kiwi Strawberry. They smell great when you open them and the texture is very light, not heavy and sticky like alot of juices tend to be. I give this high marks for smell, texture and most of all taste. The only drawback is it has a pop top like a soda can so you can't just hand one to your toddler. Log onto drinkcrayons.com to find a store near you.
